Hello all im new. Im just trying to learn how to take care of fish as my husband wants to start a fish tank sometime. When I was younger me and my mom had one and always ran into problems when we would clean it. We couldn't lift the tank as it was too heavy with the water in it. So we would take cupfulls of water at a time.
We usually alays made a mess too spilling water and all. Gravel getting into the drain when we would clean it. I just need advice.

I forgot to say I always liked a bunch of colorful fish species in the same tank but ran into the problem as to what fish get along with one another.. Im talking about the freshwater fish.

Nice to meet you and welcome to ]v[FK!! This place is chock full of info and amazing pics of not to often seen pet fish. So tell us a little about yourself and the fish you like to keep. Maybe we can help with those problems you were talking about.

As for your tank cleaning issue's they sell in petstores a hose that hooks up to your sink that you can use for waterchanges and general maintenance. It costs about $80 dollars by me for 75 feet of hose, but you can extend it further than that as they also have couplers and extensions if you need longer length's and that should make it alot easier for you.

I havent had fish in a long time. I dont really know what kind I want except to say I want some neat colorful looking species that will get along with other species. Something thats fun to watch.
