Help 30 g Planted tank

hey so i have a 30 g jaguar fry growout tank and i wanted to put it to use since it looks like the small fry are bored so i put in natural gravel for looks and i was thinking of making it a planted tank because i see people on craigslist who sell lots of plants and i thought hey if i could make a little money off plants why not, im only looking to make enough money to pay for fish food and stuff and i wanted to grow some plants for my 180 g, so how do i start a planted tank please help and yes i read the sticky i have a
16 inch long bulb t5 ho odysea light but the fixture itself is 20 inches and would that grow plants thank u

Do you want a high tech CO2 tank? Or a low tech low light? Ferts? Which plants?

no co2 just a tank with some plants to make it look nice and to sell plants that reproduce, i can add ferts but i dont know what is is good and how big of a layer,and i dont care what kind of plants whatever works

Well i was wondering this too, except the selling part. i was talking to a bloke in the pet shop today and he recommends java ferns and java moss for beginner plant growers. i don't know too much about it but good luck with your tank.

If you want plants to sell, you'd probably want fast growers that can propogate from cuttings. You can grow cabomba pretty easily (I grow it without CO2 dosing excel and leaf zone with flourite substrate). Java fern and java moss are very easy to grow, but are also very slow growers, so you won't be able to sell it very often. You could also grow floaters VERY easily, like hornwort, guppy grass, duckweed (good luck selling it), frogbit, stuff like that.

Amazon swords are fast growers.. I bought one for 4.00 and now have 4 avail... in one month.. .Dwarf sag.. bought 5 at the same time, buck each.. now have about 15...A bit slower is Balansae crypt (i think) .. shoots out runners.. 2 bucks each now have 3 off-spring... Java fern is a good one too.. A really fast one is Hygrophilia... outlawed in some states.. cut the top off and put it back in the gravel/sand and in days it's rooted... Bill in Va.

no i can get plants cheap around here from craigslist so how do plants reproduce
