got a smokin deal on CR for a 90gal...but it came with a ehiem pro 2226...will this be enough filter for about 20 african cichlids? i wont have room to hang a HOB where i want to set this up and want to use sand so an under gravel filter wont work either...not familiar with canaster filters at all and i like to "over filter".,,,,,2 penguin 350 on my 60gal..

For light stocking, maybe. 2226 filters about 170 gph( with media) so your tank turnover is about 2 times an hour( IMO not enough) Most people will strive to hit between 3-5 times an hour on a modestly stocked tank. I have 10x on my 90 and 14-15x on my 60, but I also stock sa cichlids and plecos, so I need high o2 levels.

I'd get another 2226 or something like a Rena xp3. One more canister and you'll be set. Or, keep it the way you have it and stock slowly till you can get a second can.
