my brother just went to France today and left me in charge of our fish tank. We have a fluval fx5 and a overflow box. the intake on the top of the tank keeps creating a "tornado" effect and idk what to do about it. i added more water and its calming down , but the tank is filled already. plz give me advice asap . thx

is the vortex causing a problem?

is the fluval sucking in air?

yes. when the vortex is created the air goes into the PVC and down into the filter i geuss

so the overflow is directly plumbed to the fluval? or is does the overflow go to another tank under the main one, and the fluval is set to take water out of this one?

can you adjust the height of overflow?
can you adjust to flowrate of the filter?

i can adjust only the flowrate .. should i lower the flow ?
