I'm a Newbie to the Hobby. In July, I picked up a new 60 gallon oceanic reef tank which I got a killer deal on.

Needless to say, I didn't know what a reef tank was at the time. Over the past 4 months, I have had a blast learning about the hobby and designing my own wet dry in an old 20 gallon tank that I had laying around. I also have a Penguin 330 HOB filter to help keep things clean. My current stock list is as follows:
Clown Loaches X 5
Neon Tetras x 18
Sunset Platys x 4
I realize that the clown loaches will eventually need a larger tank, but currently the largest is under 4". It will be a great reason to get a bigger tank next year!
So here are a few questions that have been lingering?
Will the clown loaches eventually begin preying on the neons?
They get along well right now, even the neons take part in the feeding frenzy.
Is a PH of 8 hard on the clown loaches and will it stunt their growth or shorten their life?
They seem to be happy and have colored up nicely. They have plenty of places to hide, but rarely use them unless a loud noise startles them.
How many fish can I put in this setup?
I have 2 gallons of bio-balls in the sump, and two small bags of gravel which the water is forced through in addition to the Penguin HOB?
Your comments and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
