Help!!! advice needed for FRT!!

Man I feel so stupid :screwy:

I recently got an FRT, 10 inch shell. Add the head and tail its over 12 inch.

Had it for 6 days. Thought i would try some strawberry. so i used a small metal weight to stop the strawberry floating. The FRT ate the strawberry and the weight before i could stop it. :eek:

Its been 25 minutes. and its still eating strawberry.

What are the dangers the metal weight could cause internal problems?

Will it come out when he does a number 2.? The dimensions of the weight are, 5mm wide, 20mm long and 1 mm thick. The weight was kind a curled up when he swallowed it.

Any advice or comments are welcome. The silly thing is. I didnt even need to use food weights, as it started to eat from the surface after the 2nd strawberry.
 
Give it a day or 2 and it should pass it or regurgitate it. If not, you may need the help of a vet to ensure the weight doesn't cause a blockage in its digestive system.
 
Ok .. Bro ... Wait a couple days, see if acts abnormally....
 
Frt is not as active as before.. but that's normal after feeding.

Anyone else care to chime in?
 
I think the ordeal is over.....
The weight was made of lead. 6 grams... This made me worry...seriously worry.
I called The reptile specialist vet 12 hours after frt swallowed weight.
They took in it for X-ray. Confirmed weight was swallowed, could be 2 weeks before it passed through. Lucky it was small enough to pass trough the pelvic canal, so it shouldn't cause internal blockage.... But due to weight ratio of FRT and lead weight....the chances of lead poisoning was very high, if not already beginning.
I had to wait 3 days for meds to arrive. The injections would bind any lead in bloodstream and neutralise it. Injections 4 day on 5 day off then another 4 day on. Then no more in case overdose.

Vet showed me how to administer, turtle came home. During treatment over 2 weeks, the frt lost appetite, became very inscribe, started to go all pink aroun head and mouth region, regurgitated food occasionally. I was so worried for him.
Day 13 .... I found the lead weight in the tank..not sure which end it
passed out , not sure if frt will suffer in long-term from the lead Poisoning. But I was well happy when I found the weight.
Now turtle is eating apple and sharon fruit :D
