I got a problem here as novice aro keeper. My Silver in a 120 gallon tank has a Placidochromis phenochilus stuck in its mouth. Why would the fish try to eat this. The African was alive when I fed the fish today. Now what. Do I net the aro and try to pull the fish out.

if it is stuck YES, i would use clove oil to "knock out" the aro though because he will not like what you will be doing. You need to act ASAP. if you dont have cloveoil then just have someone grab him with a WET TOWEL (tank water) and be careful of the dorsal spines on his mouth.

Everything is fine. He somehow dislodged the fish and the dead fish sank to the bottom of the tank. I got it out of there now. Thanks for your help.
