i have a 20 gallon and i was gone for a week and a now its covered in algae. what should i do to get rid of it:feedback:

Cover the tank with a blanket for about a week and do water changes. Don't give any light to the tank. Is your tank by a window?

yea

If your tank is consistently getting sun light, algae will always be a problem unless you have a UV sterilizer or a crazy filter that turns over 50x the amount of the gallons in the tank.

i have another tank right next to it and it doesnt have any algae problems.

What do you have in your tanks? Is it also planted?

it's not getting as much sun as the other one. as what Benzjamin13 said "cover the tank that has the alge bloom with a blanket". or you can clean your tank with a alge scrubber, and do a water change.

Add plants
stop feeding
No light

algae should be gone soon, and add something to your filter that rid aquariums of algae

You need to starve the algae: No nutrients or light.
