I have a problem with a juwel rio 400 that I purchsed recently secondhand.
The tank is watertight, but when filling it a little while ago just as the tank got to about 1" under the top surround, all of a sudden both Braces poped and came away from the front rim of the tank. There was about 5/8" gap when the braces came away
So I quickly emptied it to about half way and the front has gone back to join the braces.
Any suggestions on the best way to deal with this problem.Would it be possible to re brace with glass?
Could really do with some advice on this as I am really concerned now and may decide to scrap the tank anyway if people think the safety of the tank has been seriously affected.

I don't think I have to tell you that's a lot of flexure for a 400l (100g) tank.

Check all the seals, you may be looking at taking the tank completely apart and resealing it. If you have never done such a job it will be good experience for you (not like philosophy class in high school :D ).

There are several DIY articles on here about doing this too.

Contact the manufacturer to get their opinion too ( http://www.juwel-aquarium.de/en/index.htm ) Afterwards you may be able to purchase the trim pieces from them.

Keep us posted on you venture.

I agree, I would say the tank has been sitting around for a long time in a garage or something and the silicone seals have dried out which is why the brace gave out so I would reseal the whole tank just to be safe...
