Help - Any one running Eheim pro 3 1200 XL

I have been using Eheim all my life. They are quite and very reliable. I have been running the 1200 XL for a few years now and after service the filter is a pain to get started. The tubes are primed but a air lock seems to develop in the canister while trying to fill. The push prime does not seem to be much help. I have to close the valve and pull it open and then close just to let a little air in. I end up doing this like 30 times just to fill up the canister so I can get it running . (Pain in the butt) Any suggestions will help. Thanks MFK's---

I’ve had this exact model. Both inlet and outlet tubes need to be filled with water. It makes it much easier. Also, I would remove the loose floater located in the outlet hose in the head unit. Seems like a blockage to me lol, and hinders the priming process. Plus it may be out of alignment. Press the priming button repeatedly with ill intent, lol. Occasionally hold the button down for a few seconds. It should circulate and flow after these steps. Good luck ! Once again... If the floater is out of alignment. It will cause priming issues and restrict flow.
