I baught a pair of Archer fish about two days ago. They looked healthy, attractive and just fine. Not until released in the tank did I notice that there was a slow, lazy / inactive movement from the both of them.

Yesterday morning when I looked at them, one of them had developed white cotton / fungus like layers on its body. Now it is panting upside down at the bottom, the other is ok except that it has an inactive expression still.

I did 80% waterchange and applied aquarium salt, that is in bluish colour for fungus prevention etc as well. It doesn't seem to have worked, I tried to take the fish out but it still has strength, wiggled to escape. What do you think I should do? Leave it until it dies? More importantly, I have a pair of Freshwater Barracuda ( Hujeta ) and a pair of Emperor Snakeheads as tankmates, both are juveniles.

The Snakeheads are scratching against the rock, this disease effects others? :( :irked: I can't believe this is happening...I hope I don't lose the Cudas and Snakeheads. Any help would be much appreciated, if not thank you for reading.:)

Check my PMS?:D

Thank you very much for your private message. Early today the Archer that was down had died, the other was upside down at the bottom panting.

My Snakeheads appeared sick, scratching and lost their appetite. I took the dead Archer, and thought what the hell let me just make it quick for the panting Archer and took that out too.

I then made a 100% waterchanging trying to get rid of all the parasites and applied salt, my Snakeheads are fine now. *Phew* However, thank you for the help Oddball, thank you for your willingness, it means a lot.
