ok, for the past several weeks my 5.5" silver aro has been just fine, eating and loving life. I moved him to his new tank about two weeks ago and he's was still fine, but out of nowhere he is now stopped eating and is no longer swimming. He just floats at the top of the tank in a C, all curled up. He's been doing this for about three days now. The parameters are all great, ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nitrate >25ppm. Water Temp 78 F. I have no clue what could have changed....Has anyone ever seen this, or know what may have caused it????

Occasionally I would see this from my baby black aro if I startled it. lasred only a few mintues though. Do you have any tankmates with it? Maybe the tank is too small for it to feel secure. You may try adding some floating plastic plants.

hey what was the old tempature? maybe bump it to 82

update?

I'm sorry I havent had a chance to get to a computer(I lost my job:(), I couldn't figure out what was wrong, I bumped the temp up from 78 to 80, but it was to no avail. I came home yesterday and found him floating on his side struggling, and then a few hours later I lost him.

Yesterday was probably one of the worst days in my recent history. I lost my favorite fish and my job in the same day. And the icing on the cake is I still don't know what I did wrong. FML

i had the exact same thing happen to the first jardini i ever owned, he stopped eating then just floated even letting crickets climb on top of him. I also found him just struggling to stay balanced so i ended his misery. I got a couple answers on a different forum related to a swim bladder problem so not 100% sure.

His last few hours, he wasn't able to even stay upright. I knew it was the end, I just couldn't bring myself to put him down
