I hate to say it.. 2 weeks ago I bought my first Silver Arowana, I've always wanted to have this fish, and trust me, I've ran into enuff barriers and discouraging words that made me came to the conclusion of not buying him. But now, I finally got one.. he's a juvenile about 3-4 inches long! He was eating his Hikari Krill snapped in half, and he eat about 4 pieces everyday :( but now he quit eating, he won't eat anything, he did get ick when i introduced him to 2 baby severums.. and those severums gave him the ick, he got better in 2 days... and now he quit eating :( I hate him but I dun wanna lose him! I've tried almost everything... water changes, salting the tank a little, u name it, I've tried to help him... and now.. he won't even eat tiny feeder goldfish! He's still swimming against the current, but today's his 10th day of not eating...
I'm hopeless....
I've tried all the food below..
  • Hikari Cichlid Gold
  • Hikari Arowana Carnivore Pellets
  • Freeze Dried Blood Worms
  • Freeze Dried Krill (Hikari)
  • Freeze Dried Krill (Omega One)
  • Freeze Dried Krill (Top Fin)
  • Frozen live blood worms
  • Frozen live brine shrimp
  • Frozen live krill (Hikari)
  • Freeze Dried Mysis Shrimp
  • Freeze Dried Tubiflex
 Please tell me what I can do for him.. I'm really starting to get sad... for something i've always wanted... and now it's dying.. maybe everyone was right.. i shouldn't of bought a silver arowana... i've bought nearly everything i could to feed the poor guy.. i really dun wanna resort into crickets and mealworms that he ain't going to eat at the end...
He's in a quarintine tank buy himself now with a steady water flow that he likes to swim against and good lighting and oxygen...
I give up... i really give up... :(

i feel fo u.. good luck

Personally I'm a fan of hikari foodsticks and my aros have been eating them since I've got them. Just stick with your usual feeding schedule and remove what's not eaten, just a waiting game now. He's probably moody. Check water parameters as well.

earthworms..........yo may have to suspend them at the top of the tank.

i have a fish hook that i cut all but the smallest amount of bend off of. i thread chopped worms onto that (it is tied off to enough fish line to reach the tank bottom 3x). i can hold the worms at the top taht way.

try it out

Sorry guys... i left my house for two hours.. and i just got home...
he's floating and swimming.. half of half...
its depressin enuff for me... i put the internal filter to the lowest and raised the temp to 82... he's done.. i bet it's his last few hours now...
I give up...
