my silver arowana hasn't eaten in about two weeks. i know they can go for periods of time without eating but how long should i wait. i have tried adding Kent garlic extreme and feeding him foods he used to eat without a problem but now it just floats until i remove it. i have tested the water regularly and every time there is nothing wrong with the water. anyone have a suggestion.

bump that ph up first check your quality of your water again turn the lights out and try to feed him that way and have you tried crickets yet they grew up on those

My silver is about 10-11 inches hes eating silverslides and jumbo krill. I was feeding him frozen brine shrimp/bloodworms for a while. I got him when he was about 5 inches and hes was eating crickets. What are you feeding him exactly?

he was eating the azoo 9 in 1 arowana sticks as well as crickets, frozen and freeze-dried krill, and occasionally earthworms but now he won't eat any of it and he used to go crazy for the freeze-dried krill

Although a little small to go on hunger strike, it does happen. Patience, will need exercised here. Just do as you have offer the food, then remove it. One thing that has worked with my bigger black aro is to go a few days without even offering food, thta has brought her out of strikes twice.

Leave you pH alone, it should match the water you do water changes with. Not sure why anyone would advise you to "bump it up".

Mine stopped eating for at least 4 weeks, and was very ginger for some time after that. To this day I've never figured out exactly what happened, I think a sequence of unfortunate events, poor tap water quality, drop in pH, extremely low KH etc.

My best advice is to check and double check all your water parameters and keep on top of your maintenance which I'm sure you'll already be doing.

What I found really helped me was to put as much aeration through the tank as practical.

Good luck with it. :)

I think sooner or later it will eat if its starved but in some cases you have to check ur water quality.
