Monoculus ;)
Came home tonight and my tigrinus has 1 eye that is solid red. Looks scary =O

Params are all normal. he still ate tonight like normal. Every other fish in tank is healthy and eating this evening. I see no signs of chlorine burn, or any high levels of ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate.

Been performing my weekly 50% water changes, and that was a good 3 days ago.

give him some Pimafix it helps cloud eye and other tissue problems so it might help this as well

None on hand will have to get it tomorrow.

Almost seems like he physically hurt his eye on something. I mean it's solid red. Like it's filled with blood or something. He's acting perfectly normal. Will gram some pimafix and melafix in the morning.

we need a sticky that says: there's something wrong with your fish? 1. Bump temp add salt THEN post a frantic thread on your fishes injury

sounds good as long as hes eating and acting normal everything should be ok

Ya was concerned when I just came home and saw it =O

Then I saw it looked more like blood than a disease or infection.

Went ahead with normal feeding, and he went right for his food. Seems to be acting normal. So not too worried anymore

if you doing 50% water changes id say slow down and do them every other week it might not be long enough for the bacteria to build or do smaller weekly water changes 50% is a lot and not really necessary 15 to 25 weekly is enough

sounds like youve never kept a monster-50 beats 25 as long as temp and parameters are within tolerance, you are depending on bacteria in the filter and on tank surfaces and substrate surface not in the water - any system with a uv is constantly killing all the water bacteria but the system works.:grinno:
