i picked up my datnoid about a week ago and i watched it eat at the pet store. it is a indo dat about 2 inches long. ive bin trying to feed him some sicking pellets but all he does it watch them float to the bottom. Any tips?
they won't take to pellets right away unless you are lucky, usually requires a bit of training (starving) in order to have them take to pellets
if it is a baby it will probably take to small pieces of market shrimp (deshelled), freeze dried krill/shrimp, and blood worms have all gotten my small datnoids to eat on the first day i got them without fail. these fish love shrimp
Frozen brine shrimp cubes work great for these guys. I put liquid vitamins in mine and let them melt into the shrimp before putting it in the water, that way it's nutritious!
Live tubifex worms and frozen mysis shrimp have never failed me with new tigers. I've found that the younger they are the easier it is to get them on pellets so maybe get yours something it'll eat and then start starving right away and get em on pellets.
