alrite first time having a baby PB. im not sure what type of strain it is..i know its not a temensis but im thinking its a mono. i got it from the store about 5 days now..and its getting baby guppies, some times red ear minnoows..the store also had some larger temensis but they dont have any color and its about 5" already..and the guy said, it was because it ate too many feeders? is that true?

what should i do to have it grow some nice color? plus it wont get the pellets i got. any info would help. THANKS.

Mine are Ocellaris and they didn't start getting some nice color until about 7". So, just be patient and make sure it's well fed. Guppies are fine for now. Once it's about 6+ inches see converting off live foods and you should be fine. G'luck and how bout some pics. :naughty:

Anytime. :) Also, try some live blood worms. Mine went for those voraciously and then you can move to frozen, and so on. Kinda movin on up to the main goal which of course is pellets.

thanks..i really appreciate all the feedback..i just got two more baby tems. last night. really excited. i'll post pics later on in the day.

imo, there's no reason to starve them. As long as you're patient and switch off with feeder/pellet/feeder/pellet etc eventually they should take the pellets. I don't like to starve Pbass considering thier metabolism is so fast.
