Hey everyone
I bought a baby silver aro few days back he is about 5 inchs...problem is he is not active...he is always hanging in the corner of my tank...i have got a 5' tank...and he is the only fish in it...i am feeding him hikari food sticks...and he is eating well...but even after finishing his meal he swims to the corner and hangs there for the rest of the day...i am having a powerfilter as well but i have switched it off for the past few days becasue i was assuming may be the water current is disturbing the aro but he is still inactive..i ahve observed him closely apparently he seems to be fine...i am worried..is this a normal behaviour or there is something wrong with him ?? Thanks in advance

That's normal. I got mines at the size of 6". Its always hanging at the side of the tank until it grew bigger and was able to adapt it became active. Just be patient and happy fish keeping.

Should be ok seeing that he still eats them sticks. May be he is shy.

PS: i have an asian aro that does that

Different fish have different personalities. I've had shy ones, finnicky ones, picky ones, vicious ones...etc. Got lucky on the silver I got now as he is the most outgoing and friendly one i've ever had. He eats whatever I offer him and even let's me pet him. Hopefully its just because your aro's new and he will adjust in time seeing as you've only had it for a few days. Good Luck.

Add some floating plants, your aro will feel more secure and venture out of the corner.

Relax unless you see something wrong I would not worry. Sometimes we have to appreciate what they give us. Even if it is not what we want.
