Hi everyone .. ive been a long time lurker 1st time poster.. My barra has taken a turn for the worse yesterday, breathing really heavy and acting all skittish..

I left the lids on the tank all night to come out this morning to find he had jumped into the tank beside his.. Atm he swims uipside down and looks very distressed can anyone help me ?? Ive had this fish for around 7 months and have raised it from a fingerling..

Ps.. he seems to have a red lip now from mindlessly banging into the glass on the side of the tanks..

Tank size is 6ft/1800/2400 high

the one he jumped into last night is 8ft/2000/2400

Your help will be much appreciated

Cheers (scared fish owner) Tim

Around 1ft now and in big enough conditions to be healthy.. Atm he keeps trying to jump out of the tank every hr or so and hits the glass at the top and by the looks of it knocks itself out.. salt and triple sulpha have been added as the lip now looks like a cut..

cheers for the response

no way dudes. he is lacking oxygen. chuck in 5 airstones. 3x pumps with water flow directed to surface. barraz are tuff fish so hell hang on there

There are 4 airstones . 2 power heads blowing air + water .. the other fish in the tank are fine.. the barra just seems to have like a fit every hr or so and go crazy and try and jump... hes getting banged up too..I usually have to flow him forward and back gently to get him to come two

what else is in the tank with the barra? Could it be due to aggression if there is a jardini or something like that.

The was nothing in the tank other than it... Its all good he died this afternooon started coughing so to speak and was gone 5 mins later... :(:( Im pretty bummed about it.. thanks for the help guys
