I've been watching my fish closely as my g/f had a camallanous worm outbreak in her guppy tank, and I'm praying I didn't transfer any to my tanks, and recently I've noticed my GT has some somewhat white poop goin, sometimes it's mixed with brown etc and it's not terribly stringy, but I think that might do with the fact that he's kinda big, idk...so I'm here for your guys help.

I noticed my firemouth's butt is obscenely huge today, like he has to take a giant poop. His stomach is huge, though I think someone ate one of the giant danios recently, I can't tell if it was him or someone else. I took a pic b/c I'm hoping to get some better advice, b/c the last thing I want is some kind of parasite or worm in my tank which I admire alot.

I'd get side view shots to be surer of what we're seeing here. How did the poop exactly look? Brown?

How did you sort out the camallanus infestation in your GF's tank?

She's still dealing with it, we can't find anything to cure them, so just slowly euthanizing them as they get real bad :/ sucks but all the meds we've tried haven't worked. Soon as the tank is clear she's gonna bleach it and start over.

I think he may have just had some gas or something, he's back to normal, but I'll keep posting if somethin else doesn't look right. Poop is brown, so that's some satisfaction. I've never had an outbreak and I don't plan on it :headbang2

What meds did you use? Only fenbendazole, flubendazole and levamisole hydrochloride can destroy camallanus.

+1 on the meds. I have had the misfortune of dealing with these bad*** worms and only a combination of using fenbendazole and levamisole over a three week dose of meds got rid of them completely. Find a dog dewormer with these meds as the active ingredient in them, crush and dose appropriately. These worms are notoriously hard to get rid of.

Maybe some pics of the guppies with the worms so we can make sure its camallanus...diff parasites require diff meds.

Also, I didnt notice any worms in the pic you showed. Usually camallanus worms will be hanging out of the fish, not to say he may not be affected. Just hoping the infestation hasn't spread, and good luck getting rid of them.

Can you post a pick of the camellanus infestation? I'm curious to see what they look like.
