I bought a ghostknife yesterday and while I was out his tail got chewed off I ned to know if it will grow back???? anyone's help would be gratefully accepted

do you have a pic? how much of its tail? first thing you need to do is separate it into hospital tank and away from the fish that did that to it, raise temp to like 85 and make sure to keep water really clean, im not really that experienced so im sure someone with more experience will chime in but thats what you need to do in the mean time, i think alot of people on here have had sucess with helping fish heal by adding salt and melafix though i have no idea how much salt you should add especially with a sensitive fish like the BGK

GOOD LUCK

Yea also put in some salt or chemicals that help a fish heal, I'm not sure if the tail will grow all the way back, but a similar incident happened to a fish I had and it recoverd fully, good luck!

Last year my BGK was beaten up by a Pike Cichlid. Very close to death. Tail was gone, bite marks everywhere, he was just a mess. But he recovered, but his tail didn't grow back fully. But it did grow back about an inch, and with a bit more time it could grown even more.
So in others words, give it some time to see what happens.
Good luck! :)

it might...my bgk got beat up by some africans and it grew its tail back and an extra...the tip forks now but all the fins came back...

Depends on how much of his tail is gone - the more that is gone the less likely it will grow back . Keep him away from stress and nice clean 80+ water and he should recover . Do you know how/who the injury happened - cause if you don't address that it will happen again .

Give it some time. It definitely depends on how bad the damage is. If you plan on treating it, only use half the dosage of what the recommended dosage is on the package since they are scaleless fish.
