Help! Bichir advise before purchase

Hello MFK

I need an advise or some expirience knowlegde about kepping polypterus ornatipinnis 30-35cm in length together whit Panaque nigrolineatus youngster 5-7cm in length

Are there any change that the Bichir will eat the catfish?

Hopefully the cat´s will grow fast eathing alot of nive darkwood

Anyone up for a share on this subject before I purchase

He is certainly capable of eating a little fish like that. In fact, I'm sure he would if given the chance.

Yes it is very possible it will attempt to eat it.
Especially it being an Ornate.

Not good can quite easily kill both fish, as the Ornate will probably choke on spines too.

my ornate is only 12 cms and hes already chomped through 2 5cm clown loaches.

Depends on your ornate's personality.

My 13" wont even touch the 4" palma polli which happen to escape from the mini compartment (my fault). Its been like a day before i realise and was impressed the palma polli was unharmed. But still I take no chance and place it back in the compartment until it is ready.

good bye catfish...... the ornate bichir is one of the most aggresive in intoleratable bichir. He'll need a bigger tank mate than that!
