Help Breeding Shiners

I need some help trying to raise some shiners. How can i get them to breed ? Any help is appreciated.

When I was a kid, i caught some in a lake and but them in a 55 gallon. I cant even remember if I had a filter. But anyway, they spawned but the eggs all got eaten. The tank wasnt heated. Thats all I remember, sorry.

You realize that Notropis girardi is a federally threatened species right?

I dont think they are because these shiners are the ones i baught to go ice fishing with. So im not quite sure, this is what im trying to figure out if they are Notropis girardi's or not.
