colorado!
just got the 135 beast from david.

and of coarse now my dads giving me all sorts of **** about it.

he is worried that the floor is going to give way, crack , leak, bow etc

Our house was built 13 years ago, and is of good structual design.

Its currently sitting on the second floor and over the garage.

he's worried its not going to work, so ive waited to fill the sucka.

he thinks we should move it to span across the joyce's and we've been thinking if that were done it should pick up minimum 3 joyce, pretty posotive it would be 4.

The way the tank sits now we are assuming its on the foundation wall of the garage and a joyce running length wise with the tank.

Make scence???

my dads no dummy he's been building house's etc for a veddy veddy long time.

so im trying to keep him happy and make sure i go about this right.

any comments will prob help

thanks

as long as the 135 is situated perpendicular to the direction of the floor joist you will be fine (that's how I have mine on the 2nd fl.) ...tell your old man that if he doesn't do it, when time comes, he will end up in the crappiest nursing home :)....GL

kinda what i figured, well i geuss im gonna be up for a while tonight lol

Think of it like this... Can the floor there hold a pool table? The tank you have weighs about as much as a pool table, with a much better load distribution.

YOu are currently oriented the wrong direction. Turn the tank 90 degrees.

I know there are threads and threads about this problem on this site alone. Put your tank at 90degree angles of your floor joists. Closer to the wall is best(not middle of floor). Fill that baby up!

my 150g is along a wall up-stairs. I installed 2 floor jacks in the basement, on top of the jacks I have 2, 6x6 timbers perpendicular under the floor joists. My tank weighs around 2000 lbs have not had any problems since it's been set up 7 years ago
