So I am from the mainland but now live in Hawaii where it is illegal to have any freshwater imported. I have a red cherry tank back home and have an empty 10g planted out here. Luckily the streams here are full of wild neocaridina heteropoda. Does anyone know the best way to catch these little guys? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would think putting a butterfly net as suggested downstream of some weeds/clusters of shrimp and then "chasing" then out and down into the net would work. I've used this approach with tadpoles when I was a kid.... it actually works well... get a nice deep net something that once they swim into it its not easy to swim right back out, wedge it between some rocks to hold it up or have someone hold the net... Once you give the weeds a good proding/shake scoop the net up and see whats in the net.
