Help choose tank size?

I'm getting a new tank soon. Believe these are my options
1.72"x24"x24" 180 Gallon
2.48"x36"x? 200 Gallon

Will house some polys,oscar,and SD's probably more later.

most of the time, bigger is always better.

but 48" is too limiting, esp. when you don't need 36" of width for those fish.

I vote 220g (72x24x30).

best of both worlds then. extra volume and extra length.

Sorry went to the conversion chart tank is really about 28" tall not 22". Still thinking the 180 will be better.

180 without a doubt, unless of course you can go with the 220. The 200 will be basically just like a really wide 55 gallon in terms of stocking options (if that makes sense).

Yes, it's does help I'm going to go with the 180. Thanks just though I'd see what MFK thought about it.

180 FTW!!!!! I have 2 !!! The 180 gives you a lot more stocking options imo.

if you go with the 180, might as well get the 220 instead.

always get the largest volume per given footprint (with in reason)

you get 40g more water for very little additional cost. (all the equipment is the same, just the tank costs a bit more)

Always go with more gallons when you can...that being said...the above tank would also give you a nice length for your fish to swim.
