Help Choosing Canister Filter Please

I was going to order a Fluval 404 untill I saw the rena XP3 for the same Price $99
it seems the XP3 has more gph and also holds more media
any opinions on which one is more reliable

go with the xp3. they are sooo easy to deal with, and i have never had a problem with any of the rena's. they are built well, and EASY to clean! go for it!

No waitng Wish I knew they did that before

Die hard XP3 fan here, gonna try the new FX5 though, I have a 250 gallon with an XP3 on each back corner and going to put the FX5 in the back center.

I'm planning on the same exact thing! I have four xp3's. Two on my 240 and 2 on my 233. I am also waiting on the xp5 and will put one on each tank as well. These canisters are very easy to maintain and are very very quiet. Good buy. Damn you got yours for $99.00? Is that the going rate because if it is I got a dry corncob up the yingyang! Where did you see it first listed for $99.00?

if you're planning to buy the FX5 i would suggest you measure your tank stand's capacity to put the FX5 in it. i just went to my LFS and they told me they had 3 returns on the FX5 not because they don't work... it's because it can't fit on their stand. just a word of a advise before purchasing one. :)
