Woke up this morning and our tank is cloudy. Haven't fed in 2 days. Tank is a 125. Filtration is 3xAC110's + fluval 405. Any ideas? Stock is 2x5-6" polys, a 10" clown knife, a 5" blood parrot, and a 12" LNG.

What do you mean by cloudy? Is it a white haze or a greenish haze?

Water perameters?.. golden rule.. if its odd.. check your water immediately... I'm guessing your going threw either a mini-cycle.. algae bloom.. or possibly tannins from driftwood?

water perameters.. ie ammonia spike. plants.. probably nothign to worry about but I would still test your water

Adding plants, are there leaves floating around the tank not attached to the plants? This can cause an increase of Ammonia in the aquarium, and the white cloud you would be seeing is additional bacteria trying to remove the debris in your aquarium. Test you water and see if your spiking in ammonia or nitrate, this is what is called the mini cycle. Remove any decaying biological mater and do water changes to help dilute the additional ammonia or nitrites.

There were loose plant leaves floating at the top and a clump of plant stuck to one of the AC110 intake tubes. Cleaned all of that up, did a 50% water changes and all seems well again. Thank you all. Lesson learned about keeping an eye out for floating plant leaves.

sounds like a mini cycle. I moved house and had to set up my marine tank again. even though I kept everything alive and submerged throughout the whole process the rocks went in in a different way and created a die off of the organisms that no longer had light. which means I now have cloudy water. It goes away on its own if you just keep the tank well maintained, do regular water changes and don't over feed.

I haven't lost anyone and everyone seems healthy and normal, and this is marine we are talking about. so i'm sure your tank will be fine.
