Hey guys,

Im always looking on lie aquaria for fish that I wish to have and fish im thinking about getting. I've notice that certain prices of fish are based on their origins such places like Indonesia, Africa, Sumatra,Vanuatu and Figi....
I think thats it lol

Well I don't understand why are they price so high, if it's the color I never see pics of their locations and what they look like.....Im stump can someone guide also if their is a site that sells pretty cheap saltwater fish and good shipping please post thanks!

Many factors go into price of a fish. Availibility, popularity, color, location, how hard it is to keep alive, easy to ship, easy to get to.. In saltwater corals from australia seem to run the highest bill but many saltwater fish are being farm raised now to protect the wild stocks. Expecially those on the great barrier reef, many places in reefs fish and corals are protected making them harder to get into the hobby and driving up the price. Some corals from aussie are the size of a quarter and 400 or so dollars.

A lot of the value comes from the ability to catch the fish without using lethal chemicals. Also the ability to ship and maintain them while waiting for sale.

Oh ok, but it would be good if thier was a site that sold fish and explained thier origins....ex. sumatra voltain lion fish, pic and typical procedure on catching compared to other voltain fish from other origins like africa.....

I have found that a lot of places like to sell in packages which is a good thing if you have a large tank but most generally because i have a 25 gallon tank I am taking it one or two frags at a time and also the aqulimation time for the fish is quite a bit longer and I have a friend that orders from vivid aquadics and she usally turns off all the light and leaves them in the bags and than every 15 minutes uses a drip proess. to make sure that they have adjust to the salinity in her tank. and i tried it and it works quite well. and the corals I sit on the bottom of the tank and slowly bring the up close to the light and mostly i have found like aquadic connection most have instructions.

Fish from those places are gathered using more environmentally friendly means, more fish friendly means, or have better coloration.
