This is water right out of the tap as you can see it is already in the danger level for amonia

This is water out of my tank. As you can see it is much lighter so I believe the cycle is almost complete but not sure.

This is water out of my tank and I think something is wrong!!!!! as you can see it is very dark red almost off the chart.

I have been treating for ick in my tank could that be why those levels are so high????? Also my filters at this time have no carbon because of treatment maybe this could be the reason? Next question what should I do? If I change the water the amoania will go up but my nitrate/trite levels will go way down.

I currently have 6-7 mixed africans and no other tank for them.

So what is the verdict....water change....ride it out....or is that just how the cycle works what should i be looking out for.

wayter change like a mofo try 50 percent that's more than likely why they got the idk the nitrates how long a cycle? Tank size? Size of fish?

and oh yea what area are u in remind me not to drink the water their and if I was u I wouldn't either I'm not to familiar with water purification but maybe a on faucet purifier would help this out I would think so anyway maybe someone will know I would think it would though and I would purchase one

Well its been over a week it wasn't completely cycled and I was too excited to get it all set up. There are 4 chiclids that are between 2.5-3 in and the other 3 are about 1-1.5 and 1 is just over an inch. So that makes 8 total and I can not really move them as I don't have another tank set up.

lots of large water changes and add amino carbon to your filter

it might not be cycled yet but I would guess it ammonia would be higher even though it could be better though what size tank are the 7 in u probly threw too much of a bioload for it new tank and how did u cycle it

It is a 46 or 55 bow front not sure. The dude i bought it from said it was a 55 but i really dont know haha.

There was guppys in to help kick start the cycle for maybe 2 days before i added fish. I also took quite a bit of gravel from the LFS and added it in the HOB before the filter. The LFS said the last person they had do that it only took a day to cycle. And the last time when i first got fish i never let anything cycle ither just threw them in. I have only lost one very little acei everyother fish seems to be doing alright

Can I use bottled aquafina water would that help?

I have a few bottles of that not that it would do much but still as i only have about 170oz which is no where close to the amount of water i would need to change???

I will change the water tonight and then the conditionare i use has an amonia lock on it.

Should I also add carbon back to the filters as I took it out because of the ick.

I would then increase the tank temp and add aquarium salt for the ick u might have been better off adding a few less though until fully cycled but I would invest in a water pirifier of some sort
