This is the 6th day of my one and only Datnoid (NTT), he hasn't eaten since he arrived and now he can't swim...
He just "floats" in the aquarium, but seems too breath normally!
When he swims...or tries to swim he just quickly turns on the other side or swims in circles sideways....

I wonder if this is related to his scratching against the substrate (did it very frequently).
Has anyone had similar experience and...Is there any cure for that poor thing....?

ps. no other tankmate shows any sign of sickness)

hi it could be stress from the move or from a tankmate but it also quite easily be a swimbladder problem ! i would watch a good distance away from the tank (so the fish can't see you !) especially with the tank lights off and just the room light on and see what happens,if his tankmates don't bother him then just give him some time and see if it rights itself,he may take a while to feed properly in anycase

Same thing happened to my 8" 100% stable NTT. IWhat I did was transferred it to a QT tank and used meds coupled with higher temperature and salt but it didn't improve the datnoid's condition. It died after 5 days since it started swimming in circles.

Maybe the more experienced fish keepers would chime in because if you ask me, that NTT is dead.

well thanks for replying, I transferred the NTT to quarantine tank when I saw it in this condidtion...and put some meds into the QT tank. But I fear you are right, he is as good as dead now. :(

Sorry to heat about that man. Ntt is not the hardiest of tigers, ime.

It happens. It just sucks because in my case it was the most good looking datnoid that I had.

this happens to alot of ppl...i wus imformed to treat ntts with copper safe as soon as u see heavy breathing..i havn tried this scince i lost over 100$ worth of ntts alone..but one day wen i git some cash
