OK I have about ten business that have salt and fresh water tanks that I clean, mostly 75gal -210gal size.I am sick of hauling around all different types of equipment so I want to design a tank cleaning cart. a cart that I could wheel in and out of places quickly and quietly. Half of these places want me there during business hours :screwy: but they pay so whatever but I am looking for quick and easily handling while out at the job site .
I have seen some offered for sale years ago but none lately I was first thinking diatoms then I was thinking an fx5 with a lot of purigen I want something that can be run on a tank for 15-20min to super polish the water for an instant clean look for the customers and that works the same for fresh and salt . any other suggestions to make my life easier would be greatly appreciated.

What tools would you have on this cart?

IMO any canister will work, fx5 has the looks, and ofc when your in an office looks matter. all i would do is PACK them full of polishing pads. Because all your trying to do is clear the water of floating debris, right?

But if you give a list of tools and things you want on the cart i can do a sketchup design of what i think.

what tools/filter setup is what I'm asking. I already have an idea for the kart itself

yes but I'm looking for DIY one. but if you know of any other ones for sale I'd love to see them just to compare .

Couple of thoughts on the above.
You will need to clean allot of tanks before you make the money back for an FX5 filled with Purigen.
The clean up between tanks would be a major PIA, more so, going between salt and fresh.
You need a set up that can be cleaned quickly, with very little downtime.
I would suggest using a whole house water filter for your cleaning.
The spin on and off cartridge housing is perfect for what you want to do.
Each tank could have a fresh cartridge with little fuss or cost.
These cartridges clean in the 7 to 20 micron range, depending on which you use.
A standard “Rust/sediment” cartridge has 20 micron material and the “Taste/odor” is in the 7 micron range.
These filters can be had for $20-$30 most anywhere.
The replacement cartridges are really cheap and available locally.
The only major cost would be a good external pump.
Since you are trying to make $$$ with this, don`t try to go cheap with the pump. Budget $150, or so, for one you can count on.
I would use one in the 700+gph range.
Add in some hose and fittings. You will have a pretty “PRO” type cleaning rig.
For something to haul your materials around, I would use a hand truck. They are inexpensive and very maneuverable.
A heavy duty box, clamped to the bottom for miscellaneous gear.
A truck bed, tool box would work well.
Above the box you could make a mount for your pump/filter set up.
Hose and power cord hangers would an easy job to do.
That`s what I would do.

where do you find these cheap house water filters I must be looking up the wrong ones here everything I have found start at 699.99 I can make my own filter as well but the media is more so the focus that I need more input on .
Any and all advice is welcome

The white filter came from Lowes/HD, and cost $20.
You can see how simple a build this is.
Good luck.

OK found it but the reviews are terrible and that is for drinking water I have to clean 100gal reefs and huge beast like this guy I think I need something about 100 times better then this

Worthless

I was tired of washing the car and getting serious water spots. I bought not one, but two units with no results. Not even a small reduction. Invest in a better system.Report Inappropriate Content

This is a good, simple, and inexpensive unit. Just make sure the smaller filter is appropriate for your needs. If it is obvious that a small filter is not adequate, get the larger filter.Report Inappropriate Content

I bought this product because I have a well, and especially after a rain the water has sediment in it which makes washing white clothes impossible. There are a couple of different filters available for this unit and I have tried them all. They claim to remove sediment but do not. They also claim the filters will last 3 months, and I have found that sometimes in as little as 2 weeks they are so clogged there is no water pressure in the house. Either save your money or invest in a better system. This one does not work as advertised.Report Inappropriate Content

No problem..
Works fine for me, and I try not to wash the truck with tank water.:D
I try not to drink it either.;)
If you find better, hope you`ll post what you decide to use.
Just a thought, look at diatom filters. Like the units made by Vortex.
