Help diagnose my syno

This is my new synodontis i got a week ago along with a tiger shovelnose that just passed away. I brought it home and then it showed signs of what I thought was ich. I've been treating with salt and heat for 5 days and it is getting much worse. It doesn't even look like specs of white anymore. It is like a coating of mucus. It is covering it's eyes and entire body. There are also white spots.

I recently started treating with rid ich but it is not helping. Can anyone help?

Looks pretty bad at this point, could have been velvet and not Ich, were the spots smallish and looked like he was covered in a gold dust?

Yeah. It looked a lot like ich but i don't know at this point. My tiger shovelnose just died from the same thing because I got them together at the same place.

There are other fish in the tank with no symptoms. What is the recommended treatment for velvet?

coppersafe works. dim the aquarium as well.

I turned the aquarium lights off. I will go pick up some coppersafe. Will the coppersafe be safe for my clown knife and RTC in the tank?

yes. but it will not be safe for snails and inverts.

They also stay in water for a long time so you need to keep track of how much you put in. After change water only add in amount that were lost in the water change.

I just added the coppersafe to the tank. Hopefully it will heal him soon because he is pretty bad...
