1] My tank is a 20G tall with an over sized canister filter.

2] My tank is kept at 80F-83F fully planted with a PH on the low side 6-7

3] Freshwater

4] Fully setup for over a year with no problems.

5] My current stock is:

4x Cory cats
1x Glass cat
1x Lyre Tail molly
1x Discus
100x snails

6] I introduced a German Ram about 2 months ago that was not quarantined, He died a few days after, I initially attributed this to poor acclimation but this might be the culprit!! I should have quarantined

7] 80F-83F

8] 100% live plants

9] Canister filter - JBJ EFU-35 Reaction 4-Stage Canister Filter + UV

10] Pressurized CO2 + aquarium background from DBN + I have dirt under my gravel for the plants it has been like that since I set up the tank.

11] no natural sunlight - the lighting schedule is 12noon to 9 at night

12] last water change was Monday 5Galons - before that was the day before on Sunday 5G - My routine is 5G on Sunday - I do not vacuum the substrate

13] I feed frozen San Fransisco Bay brine shrimp at 1PM then again at like 6PM

14] See pictures below - Fish is not acting different and still eats like normal

15] I treated with a penicillin based additive the past few days.

Please help me diagnose this.

Bump for some help !! please =]

looks like some kind of scale rot? Treat with salt as per usual. I had a betta get this and lost his entire stomach but made a full recovery. Took about 3 months though.

What is the "salt treatment", I've never used aquarium salt to fight disease?

Any other guesses?

You add some extra salt and raise the temp. Go on google and type in fish diseases and you can find out the disease and how to treat it.

add 1 tsp per ten gallons of AQUARIUM salt and if you have a heater then bump up the temp to high 80's. After weekly water change remember to replace salt.

OK thanks, I'll try that!

Any other thoughts on what this could be?

AHHHH .. Now Tweety's growth on the fin has turned red as if its full of blood. AHHHH

:nilly:The growth fell off just now :nilly: I dont know if that was good or not. I wish there was something else I could do to fight this diseas.

Please.. Any other ideas?
