hi i just made a durso standpipe and i cant get it to work so
should the endcap be taller then the tank or under the rim i have mine almost touching the rim

also should i just keep making the hole bigger or should make multiple little holes in the end cap

and is the endcap like are u supposed to hear the hole sucking in air like a hiss of a snake

also the water level in my sump goes really low does this mean my rio 3100 is'nt getting enough water and that it is to powerful how would i fix this

info about my tank

its a 180 gallon with built in corner overflow
it goes to my sump
in my sump i have a rio 3100

please help me out , if u can and if u want to pm me your number so we can talk or just post a reply thank u

Pictures would help 100x but with what your saying, I would say your stand pipe needs to be below the bottom of the rim of the tank or the water won't flow down but over flow. The hole can be made bigger or add more holes depending on what you want to do. The hissing noise will go away when you have the right amount of venting. It is possible your low in water or your pump is pumping faster then you are draining back to the sump. Make sure your sump is full when the power is off say an inch bellow the top of the sump, then when the power goes on it will drop but hopefully not to the point the pump is running dry or sucking water.

anyone else plz all feedback welcome

i read all of that already

sounds like pipe may not be flowing enough is the sump is low. valve back the pump and see if it evens out better then you know your pipe is too small

okay i redriled the holes sump is fine now , but the durso is not like they it is its now dad silent but it is better than before i will post a video tommorow , also does anyone know of any good pumps because now all i really hear is m pump
