Hello,

I have Henlei that is about 9” disc. Last week, I started to notice the edge of his disc started to have little nicks like something is biting him and little pieces of his disc like some of his meat is falling off... I thought it would go away but last night I noticed the edge of his disc started to have blemished white spots that look like its slowly fading through. The Henlei is still eating massivore and shrimp. I have 2 other rays in the tank and they are both fine. I will try and take some pictures later tonight. Any ideas on what if anything this might be and how to be proactive before this might get worse? The other 2 rays I have in the tank, the discs are perfect, only the henlei - his disc is jagged little.

pics would help . could be biting as above but do you have a guard on the heater ? if you didnt have other rays in the tank i would say it sounds like heater burn.

What size tank?
What is the ph? Ammonia? Nitrite? Nitrate?
How long has the tank been set up?
What sex are the rays?
How deep is the sand?

Need this info if you need help?

It really ought to become a "forum rule" or a standard response that any health type query comes with a picture (where possible) and a water parameter breakdown as many of the posts have the same questions of "show us a pic" and "tell us your water parameters"

Pic
PH,
Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate, temp, last water change and how long has the tankl been running.

Would all be useful and we should avoid answers of "they are all zero" as Nitrate and PH would not be zero! (Well nitrate might be in an uncycled tank)

Just my Opinion!

It would be nice to almost have a standarized form with all the questions that need to be answered. I use to answer alot more questions but found the same thing is you were allways asking the same questions over and over. It may also be helpful for the person asking since they may notice something when answering the standardized list.
