Help Eggbound fish....

i have a female RD that is eggbound, or "blocked up". is there a way of helping her? or is this helpless. been like this for about a month, swelling went down a little bit, but still appears very very fat. like she swallowed a golf ball.

what like squeezing her? to get them to come out? i purty sure it's not bloat or anything like it.

yeah, there is a special way to do it, but many people do this to free up a female and then handmix the eggs and sperm to get max fertilization

she laid her eggs and he fertilized them.

do you think if i leave her alone, she will eventually lay them? will her body absorb them?

Stripping an egg bound fish is a last resort as it often results in the rupture of the ovaries and subsequent fatal infections. Before you do this try placing her in a quarantine tank, slightly warmer than normal and add 1 tablespoon epsom salt per 10 gallons of water. treat for up to 10 days. This sometimes works.
