Hi,

I just cleaned my 2080 as per the normal... but this time when i started it off the pressure is so weak it cannot push the water up the hose to the spray bar!

I have emptied and checked the pump head buy nothing seems to help... if i have the outlet lower then the pump head then it will run at about 50%, as soon as i try to get the line back into the tank it fails!

there are no leaks, no air getting into the system, i have completely drained the outlet line and the spraybar is above the water.

what should i do?

I dont want the bacteria colonies to die if i cant get the pump working, should i out the media into a mesh bag and just place it into the tank until i can get this working again?

help is appreciated - i swear if it in not one thing it is another with this damn tank....

Difficult to diagnose without seeing it, but whenever I've had problems with the 2080 (I have two) it's almost always the impeller that's causing the issue. It's a massive pain in the arse, but I have to take the top off, take out the impeller, make sure it's clean and put it all back together again. Usually that does the trick for me. Not sure if that's what you meant when you mentioned you emptied and checked the pump head?

The only other consistent issue I've had with the 2080 is when it's only sucking from one intake rather than two (just cover the sucking one with your finger for a second and it should suck from the other - release and both are working).

yeah thats what i was meaning! i have cleaned everything and nothing seems to work...

even running the canister empty with no media makes no difference!

se if the impellor is put in correctly or loose. sounds stupid... but happens. or see if its put backwards...
yeah i have dismantled the head and checked 3 times everything is exactly how it should be!!

also, you can only put the impellar in one way of the 2080

Sounds like the same issue I had with one of my 2080s (I have 4). Check the "valve" the hooks under the impeller cover. I should be held down by the groove with the impeller cover. On the 2080 with the issue, I notice the "valve" was smaller on one more than any of the rest. I bought a new valve via eheimparts and it works great now.

what valve are you meaning? are you meaning the circular cover that you have to twist to release the pump case that the ceramic shaft goes into?
