:help2:
I got two new eheim 2217's. The J-pipe top bends are too narrow to go over wide acrylic tank rims.
For reference, see thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/f...-tweak-SeaClear-System2-amp-eartheaters/page2 , post #14, where John posted his SeaClear pics, saying "The downside of this style tank is unless you drill extra holes in the top, everything has to go in and out of the opening above the teeth(including airline hoses). In chamber 1, behind the mech filter screen, I have the input of my magnum and my heater. In chamber 2 I have the output of the magnum."
but I want eheim 'pipes' going in main tank, not back chamber, to get more debris off substrate, and have more directional flow options. the SeaClear back unit ONLY skims from top of one side, and blows out from the very bottom.

I'm not a DIMyselfer & husband is gone for a week.
The input pipe (to spray bars) is narrow and I doubt PVC comes that small (?)
I don't want to make an eyesore either.

If anyone knows of J-pipes that are more like wide L-J pipes (in the 2 different Eheim diameters, or with adapters available) that'd be awesome.

:feedback: THANKS!

You should be able to cut Acrylic with no problems..

Raven20/Russ thanks for reply, but I don't have tools or know-how for cutting acrylic. even if we did, I'd worry about weakening the tank structure bcuz I'm clueless. cutting tank is permanent. so first choice is looking for a way "over" from the back. It's a 4inch+ reach. Cutting acrylic would have to be done on the SIDE, near back.
Just to be clear: the tank has fish and I don't have a spare.

UPDATE:
My traveling husband found a big city Marine store! All my J-pipe inadequacy problems are being SOLVED by a DIY maintenance employee!
I can probably start my filters in the tanks' back compartment (to get the biological going) then in a week he will be home with plumbing to stretch into main tank.
*MY MAN IS THE BOMB*
