Hey everyone I got a new silver about 3.5 in. long on Thursday and haven't been able to get it to eat. I have tried pellets, fresh shrimp, tilapia, and it won't touch any of it. He actually just goes and stays in the corner of the tank when I come down. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to herp shop and get him some smal crickets and meal worms....

Let s try to get that girl eating....

Cover the tank so it does not feel threatened by you...

Small crickets and meal works do I need to do anything to the crickets before feeding. I have never got one this small my Jardini was 6 in. when I got it and wasn't scared of anything and ate the day I put him in the tank .

No. Juts put a couple of crickets in.

Freeze dried blood worms are a much better choice. They float and are easily removed if uneaten, frozen blood worms sink to the bottom.

I just use hikari carnivore sticks, theyre soft so i just crush them with my fingers for bite size pieces after a couple days they wont be able to resist it

I notice you're in the states. Not sure what its like for cost over the pond but I've had I young arow. About 5-6 inches when I got him and he didn't go for the pellets at first so I tried fresh prawns. Cut into half pea sized servings. They went a treat. And now he's on pellets now he's bigger as he was used to floating food.
