I got a Rope fish the other day and he is wonderful! He is so sweet. My problem is feeding him. I have fed him once out of my hand but that took LOTS of patience. The thing is the other fish eat his food before he can get to it... What to do?
You say you got him the other day? He might still need time to adjust to his new home. But if things get bad you could always try using a feeding stick.
I can't remember where I read it (maybe a thread here?), but someone else had the same problem and solved it with a Corona beer bottle. They boiled the bottle to remove anything harmful and drop the food for the rope into the bottle, put the bottle into the tank, and the rope is able to fit into the bottle to get the food, but the other fish are not. They used a Corona bottle specificly because it doesnt have a sticker to leave behind glue residue.

Hey now there is an idea! I was reading that they were very nocturnal. But I would hate to know that he never was able to eat and I just assumed he was at night.
he'll eat up your ghost shrimps.
and when hes big enough he'll eat your tetras.
but other than that.
any meaty foods is fine.
not sure if theyll take pellets like polys though.
