I just bought a .5" - 1" Baby FH at my LFS. i cut up a sinking carnivore pellet into four quarters. i drop it in the tank and the Baby FH eats it but than just chews and spits the chunk back out! what else can i feed the Baby FH?!
I feed mine flakes (tetramin) and frozen bloodworms. I'm in the process of transitioning to pellets because those flakes are making my water cloudy and they dont seem to get full from it. I have tried using pellets before but my babies do the same thing. Eats it and then spits them out. This makes me think that those pellets are too big. Maybe they are getting spoiled.
I personally have no hiding decorations for mine. I met a local breeder in the long beach area and he doesnt have any hiding decorations either (he uses bloodworms to feed). But i think it would be nice if it can hide ... i know for sure my fishes dont like to hide when i'm around.... always going to the top and begging for food. Again, I'm not a pro or anything so take what i say with a grain of salt. However, you do need to get something into that baby of yours asap. Perhaps you can ask the place where you bought it what they feed it. Just throwing an idea out: maybe pellets are too hard for babies to handle. My biggest baby is the only one who can eat pellets in my group of 20, all the other can only eat flakes and bloodworms. any opinions/advice will be greatly appreciated. I know of another breeder on this forum who feeds hump growth flakes.
