he eats half of the gold fish i give him but not to interested in beefheart bloodworm and krill any suggestions on feeding him.
im concerned he needs more nutrition.

dont feed goldfish, they're bad for him,so is beef heart. Keep offering the other foods + pellets, he will not starve himself to death and will eventually eat

mine wouldnt eat krill either. but he loves shrimp. go figure. He also likes turkey lunchmeat, talapia fillet, nightcrawlers....and thats about all.

not goldfish. most feeder you buy from lfs may contain disease or parasites that can harm your fish, most of them are not kept in the best condition.
Goldfish & Rosie Reds (and most cyprinidae) contain a very high level of Thiaminase and Thiaminase destroys Thiamine (Vitamin B1).
if you want to feed live to your piranha, better use cichlids.

This guy is exactly right. Any carp-like fish is horrible as a feeder and will stunt your fish's growth

try shrimp and carnivor sinking pellits my piranhas love them

I have seen some fish get a lot of growth off of goldfish. I am not saying anyone is wrong about the vitamin b breakdown, but I have seen people having success with growing healthy fish out on goldfish. Goldfish should be fine for now, but you run the risk of introducing disease and parasites as mentioned. Have you tried market shrimp? I had a 6 inch Rhom that ate shrimp right away.

eating McDonald everyday will give a person a lot of growth but doesn't mean it's healthy.
We can't see what's going on inside a fish so rather be safe than sorry.
