I'm trying to decide what freshwater fish to put in my 29 gallon. I'd like something that I can watch grow, but won't outgrow the tank. Any Ideas? I'd prefer something on the semi-aggressive to aggressive side.

Brown Knife
Peacock Eel
Leaf Fish
Siamese Barred Cat
Leopard Cnetopoma
Half Banded Eel
Zebra Eel
Siamese eel
Lined Peacock Eel
Thomasi Juwel Cichlids
Siamese Flying Fox

Most of these grow no more than 15 cm / 6'' apart from the eels which can get to 30 - 60 cm (12'' - 24'') but they are very elongate!

I've read several things that say that many of the species on this list need a 50g minimum. Is that correct? I'm interested specifically in brown knife, and leaf fish. thanks.
