as i was setting up my xp3 i got it running so im like sweet i watch it for 5 seconds then i notice all the water is leaking so im like speechless lol but it seems to be leaking from the top part where i put it on the canister could it be the tubes please help me

It could be the tube but you also need to check and make sure it is not the seal ring or whether it has a fine crack.
Sometimes the gasket that seals the canister to the motor(top) doesn't seat correctly. I have 4 xp series filters and from time to time I have the same problem. Usually I just take it off and reseat making sure the gasket is flat all the way around....
Also, make sure the hoses that connect to the filter are snug and the plastic clips are in place
