OK guys, just kind of brainstorming re: filtering this tank. I got the tank with a wet/dry and pump but I'm 99% positive it isn't enough filter for the tank, the sump is ~20 gallons and the pump will push about 700GPH. I was thinking of adding the fluval 404 from my current tank (which would also help with cycling). Would that be enough? Of course I'll need a new filter for my established tank that way, so if you think I ought to have something more than the 404 I could just buy a new filter to use in tandem with my wet/dry.

Also the w/d came with some old crusty carbon bags and a pad which I tossed, and bioballs. Should I replace the pad or just go with the bioballs sandwiched between the top & bottom drip plates. Noobish question I know but this is my first w/d. And yeah I know everybody likes the scrubbies but since I've already got the bioballs I thought they'd be OK.

Replace the pad, you want to keep debri out of the bio balls. I would add the canister also. I have a 110 with a 25 gallon W/D and a fluval 404 it stays cyrstile clear.

OK that sounds about right then. I'll grab some pads, I'll probably have to cut them since the w/d is a custom acrylic job and I probably can't buy pads to fit.
