I am looking for a turtle for my 4'x6' koi pond. It would have to stay small, under 10". Not attack my koi, which are about 6" to 10" right now. Not require direct sunlight, my pond doesn't get direct sunlight from september to February. Has to be able to be outside all year, I live in central florida. Lastly I want it to eat small fish, I have a pond full of guppys and convicts. Thanks

Mud/Musk turtles maybe, but virtually everything needs direct sun.

I have a few Razorback musks,
For the most part there mellow. But my male Would attempt to chomp on anything even if the fish is twice its size
if anything get females lol

Would a male spiny softshell work in my pond? I was looking at there care sheet on atp and it says if they don't have a UV source to give them a good vitamin D source. But do they still need a direct heat source? If that wont work i guess i will just wait until i put in my bigger pond in a year or two. Thanks.

Softies need sunlight, and they are nippers. Not a good choice. As has been said, musks and muds. You won't find anything else that is suitable. All emydids, batagurids, and trionychids need to bask. Most other species either require a different environment or would murder your koi.

Yeah softshells are brutal, vicious fish killers. I've got a pond at work with some RES, maps and European/Asian pond turtles that get along fine with larger sarasa, shubukin, golden orfe and koi.
