My cichlids are all breathing heavy
Just did water change about 30% added prime as usual noticed about 10 min after all of them are breathing heavy, just cleaned filter and loads of dead gold fish bodies fell out I'm thinking that's it may have dumped whole tun of ammonia in tank after that I did another big water change maybe 25% changed my filter pads added more filtration through pump and stone what else?

Can you post your water parameters? I know you just did a water change but a load of dead gold fish will put a lot of ammonia in the tank. My fear is now that you cleaned the filter (I hope you used tank water and not tap) you could have wiped out alot of BB and the the tank has to play catch up. Do another 25% water change and substrate vacuming. When you refill the tank don't fill the tank up completly leave a couple of inches from the top so the filter output splashes into the tank to oxigenate the water. In addition to the above add 1 tablespoon of salt per ten gallons of water to help detox the effects of ammonia. I would do daily 25% water changes and test the water before each water change until you see the numbers come back to normal. Do not feed the fish for a few days either you don't need anymore waste going into the tank at this point.

If you have a testing kit I would test the water or bring a sample to your lfs to find out your parameters first (ammonia, nitrites, etc.).

why was there loads of dead goldfish in the filter in the first place?
