in my room i currently have a 150g, 55g, 20, and 30, all set up. my moms friend is selling a 180g tank that i would love to set up in my room. If i get rid of my littler tanks (55,20,30) would my floor be able to support this tank without warping or any structural issues? Here is how my room is set upIMG_20110627_163030.jpg

Hello; I put these web addresses in a thread earlier today. I am considering setting up several tanks in a room of my house and found these sites while doing a search. You will need to post the type of support structure for anyone to be able to make a guess. From what I have found so far there area large number of variables to check out, so the answer will not be straight forward. My guess is that no one will be able to give you accurate information on this forum. A very rough estimate is likely the best you will get. Most sites I have read so far suggest having someone who knows structure to take a look.

I will likely add some extra support under the floor in my future tank room.

Chances of it your tanks falling though.. almost zero, any building built to code is well equipped to handle the weight. If you put your tank there generally beams run perpendicular to the outside walls. You'll be fine. You will be able to tell for sure by filling it slowly and looking for a bow... Unless your house is very old, you are fine.

Thanks if it helps at all, right under the area where i would like to put the tank is the housrs cement foundation

I doubt it will be much of a problem. Houses are built to take a lot. Any problems will be very gradual if they occur and you can deal with them if you start to notice them.

the beams do run perpendicular but are separated by about 2 feet. there is also about 2 foot of space between the cement foundation and the flooring to my room. by the way, my house is relatively new, about 10 years.

oh yes you are fine. If you want to make 110% sure, I could go out there and inspect, it will cost about 2 festae.
