Hey folks,

I am looking for some help identifying which flowerhorn I like. I have seen lots of pictures of interesting looking fish, but it seems like the most valued flowerhorns are not the ones I like. It seems like short bodies are very popular - I don't like them. It seems like monster Koks are popular - while a small to medium size one is OK, I don't like the moster freakish ones that are hyped up as being so great.

What I am looking for is a fish with a "normal" body shape (like your typical Amphilophus) but with some of the extraordinary red that seams to show up in some of the flowerhorn strains. I frankly don't even care if it has flowers - I am looking for a "solid" cherry red fish with bright red eyes. Does this exist? Is there a strain that fits my interest or am I way out in left field with what I am looking for.

Looking on Aquabid - here are a couple that look more like what I am interested in with my preference more toward the first one:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Patrick

Maybe you want a Red Dragon. They have lots of red, most of the time

I seen some pretty nice looking Red Dragons, but then I have seen many that only have red on the front half of their body. At one point I had seen some listed as a Red Diamond (I think) that looked really cool, but then I haven't seen them again or the ones I seen didn't look the same.

The color I am interested in is like the pictures you see of red jewel African cichlids - like this:

But looking for the size & shape of amphilophus... Maybe I am dreaming, but it would seem that fish like this would have been created by now.

how about him?

That is awesome! It would be cooler with red eyes too. What sort of flowerhorn or hybrid is this one MrGillz?
